🎴 Supported Games
ScanDex is a multi-game TCG collector app covering seven games: Pokémon, One Piece, Palworld, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering, Disney Lorcana, and Star Wars: Unlimited — over 180,000 cards in total.
Pokémon, One Piece, Palworld, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Magic: The Gathering are the complete games right now: camera scanner, bulk scan, collection tracking, binders, buy/sell, favourites, pricing, and Pro purchase. Disney Lorcana and Star Wars: Unlimited are available for browsing, manual collection add, binders, and pricing, but scanner / buy-sell / Pro purchase are locked as coming soon.
Each game has its own catalogue, theme, isolated collection storage, and Pro unlock. ScanDex only unlocks scanning and buy/sell once that game's real physical print layout has been validated and a scanner built and tested for it, so collectors don't get a half-baked scanner. Tiny feature jail, basically.
📷 Scanning
From home, tap Scan or Bulk Scan and pick your game from the universal game picker (or open that game's collection directly and tap Scan). Hold the card flat and keep the name/number or printed code visible. ScanDex reads the card, checks the match — cross-checking tricky cards against a server-side artwork matcher when needed — then lets you confirm before adding it to your collection.
Pokémon, One Piece, Palworld, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Magic: The Gathering all have live camera scanning. Disney Lorcana and Star Wars: Unlimited are locked as coming soon — you can still browse their catalogues, add cards manually, organise binders, and use pricing where available.
Bulk Scan is a Pro feature (per game) that auto-captures cards after the scanner is confident. It is designed for scanning stacks or binder pages faster without tapping every card manually.
Quick Check lets you point the camera at any card and see its current market price without adding it to your collection — handy for eyeballing a vendor's asking price at a show or checking a friend's card. It also links out to sold eBay listings for the same card.
Use bright diffused light, avoid foil glare, keep the card flat, and make sure the name/number or printed code is readable. For difficult full-art, holo, or secret-rare cards, use the set filter if available and confirm from the result list.
📦 Collection & Binders
Yes. Each of the seven games has isolated collection storage, so your Pokémon cards stay completely separate from One Piece, Palworld, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic, Disney Lorcana, and Star Wars data.
Open a set, find the card, then add it to your collection from the card detail screen. Manual add works for every game, and is the only add method for Disney Lorcana and Star Wars while their scanners are being built.
Yes. ScanDex tracks quantities and duplicate value separately, so one card with five copies behaves like a proper collection entry instead of five messy repeats.
Binders are custom digital albums for organising cards. Chase lists are cards you are hunting for. Every game — live or manual-only — can use collection and binder tools.
Yes. From Profile → Local data, choose Export printable checklist (PDF) and pick any or all of your collections. You get a print-ready PDF grouped by set, with quantity and value per card and a blank ruled line for handwritten notes.
💰 Pricing & Values
Every game routes through its own price source: Pokémon (pokemontcg.io, plus a dedicated Japanese pricing proxy and PSA graded prices for Pro), One Piece (OPTCG API, with a Japanese eBay-listings fallback), Yu-Gi-Oh! (YGOPRODeck), Palworld (eBay active-listing median — there's no official Palworld pricing source), Disney Lorcana (Lorcast), Star Wars Unlimited (a generalized eBay-listings proxy), and Magic (Scryfall, called directly). All non-public API keys stay server-side, never inside the app. Prices are estimates for guidance only.
All seven games have a working price source, including the two manual-only games (Disney Lorcana and Star Wars). You can also switch a collection's price source independently in Profile, per game.
Some cards have missing, new, regional, promo, or hard-to-match market data. Try refreshing the price. If it still shows blank, the pricing source may not have a reliable listing yet.
Quick Check scans a card and shows its live price instantly, without adding the card anywhere — useful at a show or when checking someone else's card. It also links straight to sold eBay listings for that exact card.
⭐ ScanDex Pro
Pro unlocks bulk scanning, unlimited binders, buy/sell listing tools, advanced analytics, and graded-card value tools (Pokémon) for that game. Core tracking — manual add, collections, favourites, binders — stays free for everyone.
Yes — Pro is a one-time purchase per game, and it's live for Pokémon, One Piece, Palworld, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Magic: The Gathering. Disney Lorcana and Star Wars: Unlimited already have a Pro product listed, but their buy buttons stay locked as "coming soon" until those games' scanners are complete.
There's an optional All-Access Yearly subscription that unlocks every game at once — including any new games ScanDex adds while you're subscribed. It's entirely optional; per-game Pro purchases remain one-time with no recurring cost.
All-Access Yearly is a subscription: while active, it covers every game, including ones added after you subscribe. All-Access Lifetime is a one-time purchase that unlocks exactly the games that exist at the moment you buy it — a game added later isn't automatically included for lifetime owners the way it is for yearly subscribers.
💾 Local Data & Backups
No. Cloud backup has been removed/paused for now. Your collection is stored locally on your device unless you choose to export a backup file yourself.
Use the app's local data tools to save all collections to a file. Store that file somewhere safe, such as your phone storage, SD card, USB drive, or your own cloud drive.
Yes. Use Restore from file in the local data tools. The newer backup format can include all game collections, and older single-game backups can still be restored into the active game.
Use the in-app reset option to clear local collection data from your device. Because cloud backup is not active right now, there is no cloud copy to delete through ScanDex.
